Bad Bloggers, but good news… • 03.01.10
We’ve not been very good at this, but I figured I could take a couple minutes to wish Heather a good day as she’s at her new job for the first time!

Well, have been a bit busy lately. Just finally calmed down long enough to finally put up a quick note about finally getting married to my beautiful wife, Heather. Not a whole lot of pictures yet, but we’ll get them up when we get them from the photographer. It was a great night and we’re thankful for all that could make it and share the party with us.
Haven’t updated in a while, been really busy. My project at work goes live next Saturday.
This weekend I’m in my friend Brouse’s wedding so we have rehearsal tonight, wedding tomorrow.
Then Heather heads back to Fargo for national’s training and I’m working like a mad man all week to get ready to deploy Saturday. Then we hop on a plane for a week in Florida, fly back and get married in 4 weeks.
I thought summers were supposed to be relaxing.
Here’s a little note from today’s school bulletin in Ada.
Aaron Olson competed on Sunday in the 2009 Barnesville weightlifting competition. Some of the schools represented were: A-B, Barnesville, DGF, LPA, U-H, Melrose , Fargo and Shanley. He placed 1st in his weight class for high total weight lifted (bench + squat + clean) and also took 1st in Pound-Per-Pound in his weight class. Congratulations.
Carley also is kicking some sports butt, she hit a home run in her softball game the other day with a few extra RBI’s the way it sounds.
We had a busy weekend this time around. After I wrapped up work on Friday we headed out to Hutchinson for the tournament Saturday. We crashed at Tim’s place Friday night after meeting Master Roy & Teresa for supper.
We got up early Saturday and headed to the tournament. Started off with patterns, then it turns out there was nobody in my division for me to compete against. So I got myself all worked up for nothing. Oh well, maybe next time. After refereeing and judging for a while they did the black belt breaking. I ended up taking first in my division for that at least. After that I ended up running a ring for the rest of the day. It was a lot of fun, but really tiring.
I had one little girl smoke a boy in the head a little too hard for the controlled contact rules. I feel bad for penalizing a kid for kicking hard, but the rules are the rules.
After the tournament was wrapped up, we headed out for a quick bite and then there was a short team practice.
We went back to Tim’s and cleaned up a bit and headed over to the hotel where a lot of the people were staying. I ended up tossing a couple of kids in the pool as a joke and it quickly turned into a full-out carnival ride and I had like 8 kids in a constant line waiting to be tossed. I really should have been charging for it because I would have easily made over a $100.
Sunday morning we got up again early for a black belt class. It was a pretty easy day because everybody was so beat up. We did some timing drills, worked on forms and I showed a couple of wrist locks to everyone.
We finally made it home today around 5 and immediately took a nap. Got up a bit later and started the process of unpacking/cleaning/getting ready for the week.
In sadder news, though, after I got up from my nap I found that my beloved betta fish, Edward, had died. He was looking pretty rough a couple weeks ago, but seemed to recover just fine, but I guess it just went south over the weekend. It’s too bad because he really was entertaining to watch eat. Still haven’t decided if we’ll get a new fish or not. We’ll have to see.
I’ve been working through the program at HundredPushups.com over the last few weeks and thought I’d share my results so far. I’ve got one day left in Week 4. It’s a 6 week total program and the results are astounding. You do the pushups 3 days a week and the number increases each time.
The first day of the program I did around 45 pushups broken up between 5 sets. Last night I did 140 pushups broken up into 5 sets. Here’s a chart of my progress so far.
So I haven’t been updating, sorry about that. Work has been very crazy over the last month. We’ve even managed to get some stuff done for the wedding. We’ve got the DJ booked. We’re working on my personal favorite part, the cake selection. It’s very tough and will require many more tastings.
I recently received our “Christmas” present from Magenic last week. It’s a Kindle, basically, a handheld device for reading books. Pretty nerdy, but you also have to remember the company I work for.
I’ve also been working on my cooking skills some more. Although, I haven’t baked any pies in a while, this weekend I did make homemade tortilla chips. Last night I made turkey burgers. I even bought a couple cook books.
Heather’s prepping for a TKD tournament in April. It’s the state qualifier and she’s planning on going to nationals this summer.
We’re also trying to work on getting our own TKD school off the ground, which starts May 5th.
Also: please note that today marks the fact that you only have 21 shopping days left until a certain special boy’s birthday.
I don’t have much time to write right now as I have to go back to work in a few minutes but thought I could write a few sentances. As many of you have already found out, we have the go-ahead for our new taekwondo gym!! The official opening is May 5 and we are already starting to establish the business and create wholesale accounts. Should be a wild ride going up to the opening. Gesh it is going to be a busy spring.
And yes Mom, I contacted the DJ but he has not returned my email yet.
I don’t really think I have much else to say…
